Before Commencing Forklift Work:

Day Operations: Safety footwear, high visibility shirt or vest, sun protection if required (broad brim hat, sun screen, tinted safety glasses).

Night Operations: Safety footwear, safety vest or shirt suitable for night work (i.e. with reflective strips).

Forklift Operators should:

  • Have a current certificate to operate forklift (load shifting equipment).
  • Be trained or under instruction by an authorised person.
  • Be shown the forklift logbook.
  • Be familiar with the manufacturer’s operational guide/owners manual.
  • Have an understanding of start up/shut down procedure.
